Hyaluronic acid is already familiar to many from skincare, but this naturally occurring substance also performs remarkable feats in modern dentistry. Healthy gums are the foundation of every beautiful smile. However, when gums recede due to inflammation or mechanical stress, sensitive tooth necks or unsightly gaps often result. Treatment with hyaluronic acid offers a highly effective, biological way to regenerate and strengthen the tissue.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of connective tissue and has the ability to bind large amounts of moisture. During treatment, a special, highly concentrated gel is injected directly into the affected areas of the gums. This acts like a biological booster: blood circulation is improved, inflammatory processes are stopped, and the formation of new collagen is stimulated. This allows the gums to tighten around the teeth again.
Unlike surgical procedures, hyaluronic acid therapy is minimally invasive. It is particularly suitable for significantly accelerating healing after periodontal treatment and for maintenance therapy following such treatment. Because it is a biocompatible material, it is exceptionally well tolerated by the body and integrates seamlessly into the natural healing process.
The treatment is performed using very fine needles. If desired, we can apply a numbing gel to the gums beforehand so that you don't feel the injection.handle You can hardly feel it.
Because it is a natural product, the body breaks it down over time. The effect lasts on average. 6 to 12 months after which the treatment can safely be repeated.
We recommend avoiding very hot drinks, spicy food and excessive exercise for about 24 hours to give the tissue time to rest.
Yes, it has a very good supportive effect. It helps to lower inflammation levels in the tissue and to rebuild the protective barrier of the gums against bacteria.
In Switzerland, this treatment is usually billed as a private cosmetic or supportive service. Depending on your supplementary insurance (VVG), partial reimbursement may be possible – we would be happy to provide you with a cost estimate.
